Here’s Why Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Is Perfect Device for Your Favourite Content — Pre-Order Today!

Accra, Ghana – From streaming and gaming to reading and discovering new content, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 brings an expansive foldable display and intelligent Galaxy AI experiences to the content people enjoy every day. Currently available for pre-order in Ghana, Galaxy Z Fold8 combines the portability of a smartphone with an immersive, tablet-like viewing experience.

As the global leader in foldables, Samsung’s innovations have moved the category forward year after year, creating the thin, light and durable designs, innovative AI experiences and stunning displays that users love.

Galaxy Z Fold8, unveiled alongside the latest Galaxy Z series line-up at Galaxy Unpacked on July 22, continues that legacy of innovation. Its display features all-new Flex Titanium technology to make the device thin without compromising durability. The new display also creates a less visible crease for immersive viewing anytime, anywhere.

How is Galaxy Z Fold8 different from other Galaxy Z series foldables?

Galaxy Z Fold8 is designed for users who want the portability and ease of a traditional bar-type phone while still being able to enjoy the benefits of a tablet-like display. Its form factor allows you to move easily between time-sensitive actions on the cover screen to time-intensive tasks like reading, gaming and streaming on the main display.

Galaxy Z Fold8 is Samsung’s lightest Galaxy Z Fold design yet, with intuitive display ratios and long-lasting performance, making it easier to be immersed in the content, stories and ideas that you care about.

How big is the screen on Galaxy Z Fold8?

When folded, the 5.5-inch cover screen feels familiar and comfortable for the short moments people return to most often, from messaging and social updates to browsing and short-form video.

When unfolded, the 4 by 3 ratio and 7.6-inch main display create a larger canvas that helps users lose themselves in games and films.

When rotated, the 3 by 4 display ratio is ideal for reading, offering a more comfortable way to enjoy articles, e-books and long-form content.

Together, these display ratios are designed to make it more natural and comfortable to consume content, helping everything you do on Z Fold8 feel more immersive.

Why do the display ratios on Galaxy Z Fold8 matter?

A device’s display ratio helps determine how much of the screen is used when viewing photos, videos, games and other content. Display ratios play an important role in how efficiently content uses the available screen space. #GalaxyZFold8’s display ratios were chosen to reflect the way many people prefer to consume content today. The mainscreen features a 10:16 ratio, ideal for horizontal videos while the cover screen features a 4:3 ratio designed for vertical viewing. Both optimize the viewing experience for the content people naturally watch on each screen.

How does Galaxy AI enhance the Galaxy Z Fold8 experience?

Galaxy Z Fold8 offers a new kind of foldable experience built around the way people explore, discover and immerse themselves in their favourite content. #GalaxyAI has been optimized for each of the form factors in the line-up, so actions feel more connected. Multitasking is easy on the wide screens of Galaxy Z Fold8, and AI experiences, including Gemini, give Galaxy users even simpler and more intuitive ways to get things done.

How can customers pre-order Galaxy Z Fold8 in Ghana?

Galaxy Z Fold8 is currently available for pre-order in Ghana until 16 August 2026. Customers can pre-order through authorised Samsung retailers and enjoy a range of exclusive pre-order benefits, including a cover, 60W Travel Adapter, a Google AI Pro subscription worth GHS 1,740 and Samsung Care+ worth GHS 10,000, offering accidental damage and screen crack coverage.

Customers can also enjoy 15% off Galaxy Watch9 and GHS 1,250 off the 512GB or 1TB Galaxy Z Fold8 variants, subject to applicable terms and conditions.

Galaxy Z Fold8 will be available for general purchase in Ghana #SamsungGH from 17 August 2026.

  • NPP’s Regional Shake‑up: A Party At A Crossroads — SANKOFAONLINE EDITORIAL

    NPP’s Regional Shake‑up: A Party At A Crossroads — SANKOFAONLINE EDITORIAL

    Sankofaonline Editorial Desk : August 17, 2026

The New Patriotic Party’s regional elections have produced a new slate of chairmen‑elect across the country, a development that signals both renewal and responsibility. These provisional results, drawn from the party’s ongoing reorganization, mark a pivotal moment as the NPP seeks to rebuild its grassroots base and strengthen its internal machinery. The contests were competitive, charged with regional pride and factional energy, but the aftermath demands sober leadership, reconciliation, and disciplined stewardship.

This is the Sankofa moment, a call to look back at the lessons of past internal fractures and apply them wisely. The newly elected regional chairmen must understand that their mandate is not merely administrative, it is restorative, requiring them to calm tensions, rebuild trust, and re‑energize the party’s structures with humility and credibility. The NPP cannot afford complacency, nor can it afford regional silos. Leadership at this level must rise above personal triumph and embrace the broader responsibility of guiding the party into its next political chapter.

Provisional List of NPP Regional Chairmen‑Elect

    • Western Region, Ignatius Kwasi Afrifa
    • Savannah Region, Alhaji Iddrisu Sulemana
    • Bono Region, Kwame Baffoe Abronye (Abronye DC)
    • Greater Accra Region, Bernard Okoe‑Boye
    • Ashanti Region, Odeneho Kwaku Appiah (COKA)
    • Eastern Region, Jeff Konadu Addo
    • Central Region, Joseph Kobinah Esibu
    • Western North Region, Pious Abekah, elected on August 16, 2026
    • Ahafo Region, Robert Sarfo Mensah
    • Northern Region, Mohammed Baatima Adam (Samba)
    • North East Region, Alhaji Mohammed Fuseini
    • Upper East Region, Elvis Awonekai (Figo)
    • Upper West Region, Abdul Aziz Abdul Rahman
    • Volta Region, Makafui Kofi Woanya
    • Oti Region, Dr. Frank Yirenkyi
    • Bono East Region, Ibrahim Bukari Baba

These results represent the provisional outcome of the party’s regional elections, now complete with the Western North Region’s contest concluded on August 16, 2026.

    SankofaOnline Editorial Verdict
The mandate before these chairmen‑elect is bigger than the title they now hold. They must reconcile divided camps, restore confidence in regional leadership, and prepare the party’s grassroots structures for the next phase of political activity. Their success will determine whether this moment becomes a disciplined renewal or a missed opportunity.

  • Condolence editorial on the passing of Jason Arday, Cambridge’s youngest Black professor

Condolence editorial on the passing of Jason Arday, Cambridge’s youngest Black professor

    Sankofaonline News Desk | August 15, 2026

The sudden passing of Jason Atta Kwei Arday at just 41 years old has cast a long, heavy shadow across the academic world, the Ghanaian diaspora, and every community that followed his remarkable rise. His death, described by authorities as unexpected but not suspicious, brings a painful and premature end to a life defined by perseverance, brilliance, and an unyielding commitment to widening the doors of opportunity for others.

Arday’s journey was never ordinary. Born in Clapham to Ghanaian parents, raised as the third of four boys, and navigating early developmental challenges that delayed his speech until age eleven, he grew into a scholar whose work and presence challenged the boundaries of possibility. His appointment in 2023 as Cambridge University’s youngest Black professor was not merely a personal milestone; it was a moment that reverberated across continents, symbolizing what determination can achieve even in spaces historically resistant to change.

Yet the years that followed were marked by scrutiny, controversy, and relentless public pressure. Allegations surrounding his academic work and credentials—contested, investigated, and debated—placed him under a spotlight that few could withstand. Even as he maintained his innocence and pointed to institutional panels that cleared him of wrongdoing, the weight of the discourse was unmistakable. His resignation earlier this month was a somber chapter in a story that had once inspired so many.

Today, however, the noise of controversy must give way to the quiet truth of loss.

A family has lost a son. Brothers have lost a sibling. A community has lost a symbol of aspiration. And the academy has lost a mind that dared to imagine a more inclusive future.

In their statement, his family described him as a “gentle man,” a phrase that cuts through the headlines and reminds us of the humanity behind the public figure. It invites us to remember not only the professor, but the person—the son of a mental health nurse and a chef, the boy from Clapham, the man who fought to make elite institutions more reflective of the societies they serve.

This moment calls for reflection. It calls for compassion. And it calls for a reckoning with the pressures placed upon individuals who break barriers in spaces not built for them. Jason Arday’s life was a testament to resilience; his passing is a reminder of its limits.

May his memory endure not in the controversies that clouded his final years, but in the courage that defined his ascent. May his family find strength in the legacy he leaves behind. And may the institutions that celebrated him—and later scrutinized him—learn from the human cost of their expectations.

A mighty tree has fallen. And the forest feels the silence.
