Media personality Nana Aba Anamoah may face up to 12 months jail sentence if she drives the Range Rover she received on her birthday, according to the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA).
The EIB Network employee took over social media on her birthday (Friday, June 19) when she received a special birthday message from Manchester United star Juan Mata, and on top of it received a brand new Rane Rover as a gift from an unknown person.
But ‘social media investigators’ in their quest to satisfy their curiosity did some diggings and found out that her new car with number plate, GR 2050 – 20, matches that of a Nissan Rogue SUV which is already in use.
Reacting to this, the DVLA, in a press statement dated June 23, 2020, said the issue has come to their attention and that Nana Aba could face up to 12 months jail sentence if she attempts to put the car into use without registering it.
“The Authority wishes to remind vehicle owners and the general public that a person shall not drive a motor vehicle or trailer unless it is registered,” the statement sighted by Pulse.com.gh reads. “The Road Traffic Act, 2004, (Act 683) Section 41 (1) states that a person who uses or keeps a motor vehicle or trailer not being an exempt motor vehicle on a road when particulars of the motor vehicle or trailer have not been entered in the register maintained by the Licencing Authority, commits an offence and is liable to summary conviction to a fine not exceeding 250 penalty units or to a term of imprisonment not exceeding 12 months or to both.”
The statement also said it has launched an investigation into Nana Aba’s car saga, adding that “the Authority will not hesitate in its efforts to bring the perpetrators to face the full rigours of the law.”
The Executive Director of One Volta Group, Togbe Hotormaho Amedzake III has urged the government of Ghana to do all it can to minimize the rate of the coronavirus infection in the country whiles reminding all Ghanaians to keep observing all safety protocols.

Through the support of members of the One Volta Group in the diaspora led by Chairman Mr. Kossi Nutekpor, 1st Vice-Chair Dr. Kar Alorbi and 2nd Vice Chair Dr. Peter Abotchie, the organization has donated “face masks, quantities of gallons and bottles of Hand Sanitisers and liquid soap, disposable hand gloves and bedsheets for selected health facilities in all Eighteen (18) District and Municipal Assemblies of the Volta Region” worth over GHc50,000.
Receiving the items on behalf of the Regional Health Directorate and the Regional COVID-19 Response Team, the Volta Regional Minister, Dr. Archibald Letse expressed his gratitude to the leadership of OVG whiles assuring them the items will be used for the purposes for which they were donated.

Good afternoon and welcome once again.
We are here as a result of a call to action from the NOVEL CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) PANDEMIC that has bedeviled mankind and to make a donation of Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) to our frontline health workers at various health facilities in our region, the Volta Region.
Covid-19, as we know, has crippled economies of the world and is causing severe fatalities the world over, Ghana and for that matter Volta Region is no exception.
The COVID-19 story as at today, June 22, 2020 has 14,154 confirmed cases with 85 deaths nationwide. Volta Region has confirmed recorded cases of 314. To date, there has not been a known cure for the virus. What this means to us all is that we need to take the utmost precautions and preventive measures outlined by health experts for our own safety.
Some of these measures include frequent washing of hands with soap under running water, use of hand sanitizers, wearing of face masks, and observation of social distance.
Our frontline health workers that we all look up to in this critical time, need materials to work with. In that regard, One Volta Group is here to make this donation as its token contribution towards the fight against the spread of this deadly virus.
We have as our widows mite, 9000 face masks, quantities of galons and bottles of Hand Sanitisers and liquid soap, disposable hand gloves and bedsheets for selected health facilities in all Eighteen (18) District and Municipal Assemblies of the Volta Region.
Hon. Minister, OVG has also earmarked cash donation to the National COVID-19 Trust Fund in Accra.

The Electoral Commission, Ghana (EC) has resisted attempts by four policy think-tanks to volunteer relevant information to the Supreme Court in the case between the Commission and National Democratic Congress (NDC) regarding the new voters register.
The policy think-tanks – IMANI Africa, Alliance for Social Equity and Public Accountability (ASEPA), Institute for Liberty and Policy Innovation and Conservative Policy Research Center – had served notice to volunteer relevant information to the court in what is often referred to as amicus brief in law.
The NDC sued the EC and the Attorney General (AG), challenging the decision to limit eligibility criteria for the compilation of the proposed voters’ register to only a National ID Card and a Ghanaian passport.
The Court had set Tuesday, June 23 for judgement, but another suit directed at the EC on the same matter caused the court to adjourn judgement indefinitely.
According to the CSOs, an amicus brief had become necessary because there was the need to provide the Supreme Court with supplementary evidence and information they had uncovered which they believe could help the judges avoid a travesty of justice in the case.
But in rejecting the move, the EC argued the CSOs did not show any special expertise relating to the matters of the case for which reason they would want to volunteer any information to the court – or file an amicus brief.
The EC also argued that the public utterances of the CSOs on the matter is a clear indication that “they are not disinterested in the outcome of the case”, and can thus not file an amicus brief.
It is the understanding of the EC that the main purpose of an amicus brief is “to seek leave of the court to point to the court some decision, whether reported or unreported or some point of law which appeared not to have been canvassed by the litigating parties or to bring for the benefit of the court some special expertise relating to the matter before it”.
The EC contends the CSOs do not meet any of the grounds under which they can file an amicus brief, as such, prayed the Supreme Court to dismiss their application.
Yaa Pono has expressed his disappointment over the violence that erupted at Ashaiman today.
The violence occurred when thugs stormed a venue to attack Kelvyn Boy at an event. According to reports, one mancho man behind the attack is Stonebwoy’s former bodyguard. “This is stupid and should not happen #noviolence,” he wrote.
Sharing a video on the incidence on social media, he continued that “Ino be plenty talk… @kelvynboymusic_ this thing must stop with full effect I tell u, nonsense”. However, it is still not known what has triggered the attack.
Nevertheless, some fans believe it is linked with Kelvyn’s ‘beef’ with Stonebwoy, who claims Ashaiman as the home of his strongest fanbase.
The “Mea” singer has been reacting the incident too. In a tweet, he said “You send people make dem come beat me? Rolling on the floor laughing. You think say Ashaiman be your own?”. See video below of what happened.
Kelvynboy’s road manager, Didi, has spoken up after the attack on his artiste earlier today when he was called upon to grace the launch of a new branch of one of the biggest appliance shops in the country in Ashaiman.
The Ghanaian afrobeat artiste, Kelvynboy, in a trending video spotted on social media, seemed to have received some sounding slaps from a man identified as Kelly, one of Stonebwoy’s former bodyguards.
Didi, in an interview with the Supreme Selector, DJ Advicer, on Happy FM’s Ayekoo After-Drive, revealed that they have reported the issue to the Ashaiman police as well as at the Ghana Police Headquarters and are waiting for them to handle the issue.
“We have no idea why the guy did what he did, but we have left the issue in the hands of the authorities to find out whatever motive he had to come here and attack a blameless young artiste pursuing his dreams,” he said.
According to him, neither this attack nor any other planned incident can prevent Kelvyn Boy from performing in Ashaiman because neither Ghana nor any part of the country belongs to one individual.
“This time, we weren’t so cautious but next time, even if tomorrow, we are called upon to perform at a show in Ashaiman and the money is good, we will go and we will make sure to go with the right security,” Didi added.
Kelvyn Boy has been throwing shots at Stonebwoy on social media and other media platforms since the Burniton Music Group boss refused to renew the young act’s contract, thus sacking him from the label.
