Mother of Kennedy Agyapong’s disowned daughter has again reacted to his outburst on live radio suggesting her daughter is a drug addict and a prostitute, cautioning him to take back his words or taste her scorn.
According to the Baby Mama, she has single-handedly catered for her daughter, Anell Agyapong, for sixteen years, and does not need his financial assistance so she is not ‘afraid’ to expose more of his dirty secrets if he doesn’t apologize and retract his words against her daughter.
“People just cannot close their mouths, if you talk, don’t you get tired? You ain’t seen nothing yet. This is just a preamble. I don’t need your dirty money. All I have is my strength as a mother. The only thing I take solace in is that I was not in love with you, you came to snatch me. Make sure you retract all the mad things you have said concerning my daughter,” she ranted on her Facebook live earlier today, June 27, 2020.
She added that the MP should check his other children instead of fixing his ‘radar’ on her daughter and calling her demeaning names, as his children are really no different.
“If you say my child is a prostitute, your daughter Tracy has ruined your bed, your son Nana Takyi was also at Afrochella, fornicating here and there. Your firstborn in high school gave birth like mice to about 6 or 4 children. You are warned, Kennedy,” she added.
She concluded that Anell won a scholarship for her education as a result of her great academic performance, but Kennedy convinced them to cancel the scholarship so he could pay her fees. To her, he cannot brag about cutting off his daughter’s fees provision because she would have been okay financially without him.
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has retained his vice, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, as his running mate for the Presidential elections in December.
The announcement which was greeted with unanimous cheers was also approved by the National Council and the National Executive Committee (NEC), making him the official running mate for Akufo-Addo.
“Today I have the honour to put into consideration with you my choice of running mate for the fourth time, the excellent hardworking vice president Alhaji Mahamadu Bawumia. With your endorsement, the party will complete its presidential ticket.
A feat that appears to elude some of our opponents. We have no such difficulty we have a most fitting person to feature on our ticket and I give you Mr digital, Mr you and I were not there, the economic prophet, the Adam Smith of Walewale, my good and loyal friend, Alhaji Mahamadu Bawumia,” he proclaimed amidst cheers.
This means that Mr Bawumia has been selected by the NPP flagbearer for the fourth straight time.
In his acceptance speech, Dr Bawumia expressed gratitude to Nana Akufo-Addo and the NPP for choosing him again and promised not to disappoint the President and the party.
Meanwhile, former President John Dramani Mahama and by extension, the National Democratic Congress are yet to make public the running mate of the NDC flagbearer.
Although a number of individuals have been speculated, Mr Mahama has noted that he is not under pressure to make the announcement and would do so in due time.
Johnson Asiedu Nketia, the General Secretary of the largest opposition political party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has gone berserk by unleashing unprovoked attacks on certain personalities in the country, especially the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission (EC), Jean Mensa, simply because she is trying to lead the compilation of a new voters’ register ahead of the December general election.
Without any justification, the NDC man verbally assaulted Mrs. Mensa and her deputy, Dr. Eric Bossman Asare, describing them as ‘mad’ people who require ‘medical check-up’.
Asiedu Nketia nicknamed as ‘Mosquitoe’, appeared fired up whilst addressing his party people, mostly fishermen, during a secret meeting.
At the meeting, he is captured on the tape also attacking Supreme Court judges by imputing partiality in the work they do, claiming they are all friends of President Akufo-Addo and owe allegiance to the President.
On the tape, he appears to belittle the intelligence of the revered judges, who have not offended him in any way.
Asiedu Nketia, who was responding to a question posed to him by an attendant of the meeting, said “it is true that President Nana Akufo-Addo has appointed his friends into the Supreme Court, but the NDC has no option than to go the same court for redress,” when the voters register case, which was decided on Thursday, was raised.
Sensing his irresponsible remark could land him in trouble, he quickly turned around to say even though the judges owed allegiance to the President, they cannot rule in favour of their ‘friend’ in a case regarding whether holders of birth certificate should be allowed to register and vote in the country.
“Even though someone has appointed solely his friends into the Supreme Court, I am expecting positive results from the court because this same Supreme Court holds the view that people with voters’ ID cards are Ghanaians,” he said.
“If someone is compiling names of Ghanaians that are eligible to vote and people holding voters’ ID cards are being denied that right to register and vote, definitely the court cannot make a U-turn and rule differently this time,” he pointed out.
In this regard, he said “I trust that the court would consider the public interest and know that any different ruling or bias verdict on this same issue would put the court into public ridicule. This is a straightforward case and nobody can twist the law.
“We are only asking for interpretation to verify if the birth certificate which one needs to acquire Ghana passport cannot be accepted as a requirement to vote but passport and Ghana cards can be used as a requirement to register and vote.”
He said the judges are aware that if they bow to pressure from the President and twist the law and rule to deny people with birth certificates, the right to register and vote, they (judges) would have their reputation at stake so they would do the right thing.
He then switched his attention to the EC boss once again making cynical remarks about her.
“You are all aware of the bad name that Jean Mensa has earned for herself after she allowed herself to be used by the President, who appointed her to office. The reputation of the judges is also at stake; therefore, they would act appropriately,” he claimed.
Asiedu Nketia, who sounded like he was addressing fishermen who are loyal to the NDC, also prepared the minds of his listeners about the need to proceed to court and file for an injunction to be placed on the upcoming voters’ registration exercise.
“You can organize yourself in groups or singularly; you can go to court and pray to the court that you are a Ghanaian with a birth certificate but because you don’t have a passport, the EC is denying you your right to register and vote,” he stressed.
He said he was aware some Ghanaian fishermen in the Western and Central regions had been locked up in Benin due to the Covid-19 restrictions, noting “you can even go to court on behalf of your friends in Benin to secure court injunction on the registration exercise.”
According to him, the law explicitly states that every Ghanaian, irrespective of where he/she is domiciling, should be located and allowed to register to enable them to vote “so conducting the registration exercise when some fishermen are locked up in Benin is against the law.”
Snubs Court Injunction
At that juncture, one of the listeners then drew the attention of the NDC scribe by asking as to whether they would not be found guilty of contempt of court for speaking about the registration exercise case which was before the court, and Asiedu Nketiah instantly retorted that nobody could be cited for contempt of court on the voters’ registration issue.
“The NDC is only in court to ask about the interpretation of the law as to whether it is lawful to deny some Ghanaian citizens with birth certificates the right to register to vote and rather allow those with passports and Ghana cards to register.”
According to him, one could be cited for contempt when the person had passed judgement on a case pending in court “but in this case, we are only seeking interpretation so nobody can cite you for contempt. There is no winner or loser in this case.”
More Agitations Coming
Asiedu Nketiah, who was virtually coaching his audience about what they could do to stop the upcoming registration exercise, also urged the NDC members to consider organizing a series of press conferences and condemn the upcoming registration exercise in the various media platforms.
According to him, the NDC leadership is ever ready to offer the needed financial and logistical support to enable the concerns of the fishermen to be heard through a series of successful press conferences and other programmes in the coming days.
The NDC General Secretary also used the Covid-19 pandemic to push his case, saying “they are starting the registration exercise now with over 14,000 confirmed Covid-19 cases.”
More Insults
Asiedu Nketia then turned the heat on the EC boss, saying the law should make provisions for those that have been mandated to register people that are eligible to vote to be tested to see if indeed they are not mad and have sound mind to carry out such an important national exercise.
“If the person doing the registration is suffering from a mental problem definitely he/she would register his colleague mad people to get the right to vote,” he fired, attracting wild applause from his charged audience.
“They should be tested because the strange actions of Jean Mensa and Bossman so far prove that they are more than mad people. They are fond of refusing every wise suggestion from people with sound minds,” he added.
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo- Addo has said governments of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) always develop the local economy while those of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) destroy it.
He has therefore asked Ghanaians to vote massively for him and the NPP in this year’s presidential elections in order to take the development of the economy to another level.
Speaking during the unveiling of the ‘Nana-Bawumia’ ticket by the NPP for this yea’s elections, on Saturday June 27, Mr Akufo-Addo said : “We grow the economy they shrink the economy, we create the properly regulated enabling atmosphere for businesses to flourish, they allow chancers, speculators to lure citizens into putting their moneys into dodgy enterprises.
“They bring our banks and financial sectors to near collapse , we have to clean up , shore up and restore confidence, they plunge us into dumso, we keep the lights on.”
For his part, the Head of the Economic Management Team of the current government, Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawmuia, noted that petroleum prices have increased under the Akufo-Addo administration by half of the rate that occurred under the NDC under the leadership of Mr John Mahama.
He said the New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration has better managed the economy including the petroleum sector, than what Ghanaians experienced previously.
Speaking during the event, he said : “They (NDC) should not only read the data but they should try and understand it so that they don’t mislead Ghanaians like their general mosquito tried to do on the Supreme Court verdict on Thursday.
“If they study the data they will realize that for our first term in office, we have not just performed better but we have performed overwhelmingly better across board.
“Any claim to better management of the economy must ultimately reflect in the lives of the people .
“How have we been able to reduce the sufferings of our people and make life easier for them after three and half years in office?
“ That is exactly what President Nana Akufo-Addo has done. We have ended the sufferings associated with dumsor , we have reduced electricity tariffs by 10.9% compared to a cumulative increase of 264% under the NDC.
“We have further reduced tariffs by 50% for the months of April May and June this year.
“We have provided free water for households in April, May and June, petroleum prices have increased by half the rate that they did under the NDC. We have doubled the capitation grant, established NABCo, created jobs a and stopped the freeze on recruitment in the public sector.”
The Director of the Ghana Institute of Languages, Dr Emmanuel Kuti has got emotions running high after he took to Facebook to share a story about how some nurses and a doctor at the Ridge Hospital made a mockery of his dying wife after she had been prescribed with wrong medications.
According to Dr Kuto, even though he is unable to independently substantiate that his wife died as a result of the wrong prescription she was given, the fact that some nurses and a doctor at the Regional Hospital felt the need to make fun of the situation is something he can’t seem to wrap his head around.
Dr Emmanuel Kuti’s revelation is the latest accusation of negligence on the part of some doctors and nurses in many of Ghana’s leading hospitals.

Folks, last night I lost my wife at Ridge Hospital.
My wife checked in at the hospital Sunday evening. She had been due for surgery Monday morning.
We agreed that I would return to the hospital in the afternoon when she would have returned from the theater.
That’s how it happened. I returned to her. She narrated the experience to me. I stayed with her till 8pm when the orderly came to ask me to leave.
When I returned the next morning, my wife had taken a turn for the worst. She was sweating profusely and was in severe pain. The change was really dramatic.
I asked her if the doctor had seen her. She said no but the nurse had given her medication earlier on. She asked me to take her to the washroom. By this time she was screaming in pain. I managed to sit her on the WC. But as she attempted to relieve herself she suddenly went limp and crumbled onto the floor. She was unconscious.
I rushed out to seek help. A couple of nurses came in to help. She regained consciousness but she was in a terrible shape. The next one hour was hell as there was no doctor immediately available. After about an hour the doctor arrived. He examined my wife and asked the nurse what medication had been administered. The nurse mentioned something I don’t remember. The doctor asked if she was sure and she said yes. The doctor then went through my wife’s folder for a few minutes.
« But I didn’t prescribe that », he said.
My heart missed a beat.
There was a back and forth between the doctor and the nurse, which attracted two other nurses. One of the new entrants said yes, he the doctor didn’t prescribe it but another doctor did so later.
The doctor said he was going to call him right now. He walked out the room followed by the nurses.
I followed them into the lobby.
He picked the phone and called someone. From the conversation, it was clear that the other doctor had promptly admitted to prescribing the drug.
Folks, I swear by my father’s grave that my wife’s doctor said something like this.
“ I can’t believe you have done this again. This is the second time. This woman’s case is similar to the other one but you have done it again”.
Folks, at this point I started feeling very cold.
What happened next is the reason I am writing this. But for it I would never share this on social media. As our doctor was scolding the other doctor, they nurses were laughing heartily. Even the doctor was scolding his colleague somehow jokingly.
Yes, my wife lay dying and the nurses were laughing that a doctor had apparently prescribed the wrong medication for her. I was not angry and I was not mad.
I just felt cold. Very cold.
A lot happened subsequently as they tried to save her. They prescribed some drugs which I bought. Then they prescribed some more drugs which I bought. Then they prescribed more. Then they wanted a test done which we did. Earlier, my sister-in-law who had held the fort while I went to see the kids had also been made to buy drugs.
In the end I was left alone with my wife.
At 8 pm the orderly came to ask me to leave. I drove home filled with a huge feeling of emptiness. I could not sleep. I tossed around in bed the whole night. At around 4 am I fell asleep.
My sister-in-law was to take up the relay this morning. I was to go and teach my students and then return to replace her. We took turns taking care of my wife. My sister-in-law called me at 6 am which is the visiting time at the hospital.
I had overslept.
“Brother Imma, are you coming? The doctors want to see you immediately”.
“I am on my way”, I lied. I hurriedly jumped into a crumpled jeans and an old Lacoste. I did not bath. I did not brush my teeth. I don’t how I drove to Ridge Hospital.
My wife died at 11 pm last night, three hours after I left her. A lady in the ward told me she collapsed and died. Just like that. By the way, my sister-in-law told me that when she got to the ward this morning she overheard doctors and nurses arguing over “wrong medication”. I am not angry. I am sad. Deeply sad. Indescribably sad.
Folks, let’s be clear. I have no evidence that the wrong medication killed my wife. I have requested for an autopsy.
I also appreciate the efforts made by some of the nurses to save the life of my wife. One particular nurse was very kind to me and I pray God’s blessings on her.
What I cannot accept, and why I am writing this, is that health workers find it funny that the wrong medication had apparently been administered to my wife. They were laughing. It was a joke. My wife’s life was a joke.
My wife heard the whole story unfold. How did she feel lying there listening? I kept thinking “Is my wife’s life worth so little”? Is that all she is worth? Can’t they see she is my wife? Can’t they see me standing there listening to them?
Now I have been thinking. I am a senior public servant, the head of a public tertiary institution. If this happened to me then I shudder to think of what can happen to an ordinary person in our country.
Folks, I am not courting sympathy. I have thought carefully before posting this.
Here is the thing: Nobody, absolutely nobody deserves to experience this. It falls far below any idea of human decency. This should never happen again.
That is why I am calling out Ridge Hospital.
I am asking you a special favor. Please, help me call out Ridge Hospital.
It is me today. It could be you tomorrow. Please, share my post again and again till it gets to the authorities of Ridge Hospital.
Hopefully they will sit up. Hopefully they will stop treating human life like statistics. Hopefully, they will understand that every patient is a person, a wife, a husband, a mother, a father, a brother, a sister, a son, a daughter, a cousin, a grandmother and a father that is dearly beloved by someone.
