Zion College has once again proven that its spirit of unity and resilience remains unshakable. The 2025 Homecoming celebration, held with grandeur and heartfelt devotion, brought together generations of alumni, leaders, and students in a landmark event that will be remembered as a turning point in the school’s history.
On behalf of the Board, Management, Staff, and Students, profound gratitude was extended to the Executives, Council of Elders, Academic Committee, Infrastructure Committee, the Homecoming Planning Committee, the Class of 1974, and the entire Alumni Association. Their collective dedication transformed the gathering into more than a reunion, it became a catalyst for the future, setting the stage for Zion College’s forthcoming 90th anniversary.
The event was graced by distinguished personalities, including Chairman Prof. Cornelius Dzakpasu, whose leadership and presence inspired confidence and pride. The contributions of resource persons for the Career Guidance sessions, the Edufair, and the Guest Speaker, Togbi Tagbor of Kedzi, added depth and meaning to the celebration. Their wisdom and counsel reminded all present that Zion College’s mission is not only to educate but to shape lives and communities.
Expressions of appreciation flowed from every corner. Dr. Anthony Mawuli Sallar lauded the tireless efforts of the Homecoming Committee, the Academic Committee, and individuals such as Mr. Gameli Attipoe, Mrs. Edem Agbemafor Lumorvie, Vice President Isaac Apetorgbor, Senior Emmanuel Nyatuame, and the vibrant MCs, Edina Fiawoo, Mamavi Owusu Aboagye, and Mr. Anani, whose energy kept the atmosphere alive. The Class of 1974, true to tradition, stole the spotlight by handing over a completed bungalow, a tangible symbol of alumni commitment.
The celebration was not only marked by speeches and ceremonies but also by joyous fellowship. The after-hours party brought together old friends and new, with Commander Elinam Kuzagbe and many others rekindling bonds that stretched across decades. Togbi Tagbo III, beyond his role as Guest Speaker, stayed to cut the ribbon, embodying the spirit of continuity and shared purpose.
Precious Edem Agbemafoh, Chair of the Homecoming Planning Committee, captured the essence of the occasion in her words of gratitude: the event was not without challenges, but perseverance and unity carried the day. The slogan “For Mother Zico” rang true, reminding all that the school’s vision and transformation are achievable when hearts and hands work together.
As the community dispersed to their various destinations, one message remained clear: Zion College is on the rise. With faith, strategy, and collective effort, the dreams of academic excellence and institutional transformation will become reality.
As Zion College approaches its 90th anniversary, we call on all NAFRICANS to begin preparing for what promises to be a historic celebration. If you were unable to join this year, let this be your reminder to plan ahead for future celebrations . Remember always: ZICO is the foundation that shaped who you are today, and together we can honor that legacy by rising to meet the moment.
