There are moments in the life of an institution when something shifts, quietly at first, then unmistakably. At Zion College, that shift arrived in the form of a powerful, future-shaping Career Guidance and Counselling Session that did far more than inform; it ignited.

Hosted by the visionary Rotary Club of Accra South and expertly delivered by the Tema West Nafricans Group, the program became a catalytic encounter where youthful curiosity met lived experience, and where possibility suddenly felt within reach.

A Leadership Climate That Makes Growth Possible

The transformation began the moment the delegation stepped onto campus. The Headmistress, Madam Kwawukumey, welcomed the team with a warmth that spoke volumes.

Her openness created the perfect atmosphere, one where facilitators could challenge, inspire, and stretch the students beyond the familiar boundaries of classroom learning.
The auditorium became more than a hall; it became a launchpad for ambition.

Voices That Shape Destinies: The Facilitators

Great mentorship requires more than credentials, it demands authenticity, courage, and a willingness to pour into others. The facilitators embodied all of this and more:

  • Commander Elinam Kuzagbe — delivered a masterclass in discipline, structure, and the power of unwavering focus.
  • Prof. Kofi Quarshigah — expanded intellectual horizons and reminded students that academic excellence remains a timeless passport to global relevance.
  • Gameli King & Kofi Gator Tamakloe — broke down the professional world with refreshing clarity, offering practical strategies for navigating competitive industries.
  • Isaac Apetorgbor, Dr. Samuel Gayi & Fafali Agbakpe — spoke to the soul of leadership: resilience, self-discipline, and the courage to grow.

These were not distant speeches. They were conversations, honest, venerable and deeply human. Students heard not just success stories, but the struggles, disappointments, betrayals, detours, and defining moments that shaped these leaders.

A Spark That Will Outlive the Afternoon

The true triumph of the session was its ability to turn uncertainty into clarity. Career paths that once felt intimidating suddenly became navigable. Students left with:

  • A renewed sense of purpose
  • A clearer understanding of their strengths
  • A practical roadmap for leadership and personal development

The President of the old students Association of ZICO , Professor Anthony Sallar said “The best way to predict the future is to create it. On this day, Zion College students were given the tools to build theirs.”

This was not merely an event, it was an investment in the next generation of thinkers, innovators, and nation-builders.

A Grateful Salute

Deep appreciation goes to Madam Kwawukumey for her exceptional hospitality, to the facilitators for their generosity of spirit, and to the brilliant students whose energy transformed the day into something unforgettable.

Empowering minds. Shaping futures. Inspiring tomorrow’s leaders.
