Voice of Keta may have attempted to paint a chaotic picture of the Keta NDC Constituency, but Sankofaonline is compelled to confront the allegations head‑on , without fear, without varnish, and without bowing to the culture of silence that has emboldened impunity in local political leadership.

According to the claims circulating, the Municipal Chief Executive of Keta, Wisdom Seade , who also chairs the constituency , allegedly pulled a weapon at his official residence on Saturday, 27th June. The supposed vetting‑appeal meeting reportedly descended into turmoil when party members dared to question what they describe as his iron‑fisted, authoritarian style of leadership. If true, this would mark one of the most disgraceful moments in the constituency’s political history.

The spark, sources say, came from a Ward Coordinator who confronted the MCE, MP Kwame Gakpe Dzudzorli, and their loyalists over the secretive handling of five National Security protocol slots received last year. These opportunities, meant to uplift deserving grassroots members, were allegedly hoarded by the MCE and MP , concealed from Ward Coordinators and quietly handed to their preferred individuals. No consultation. No transparency. No merit. Just raw political patronage.

But the allegations do not end there. It is widely claimed that additional protocol slots , Ghana Armed Forces, Navy, Prisons Service, Immigration Service, and others , were not only hidden but sold for GH₵20,000 and above. If accurate, this would mean the very leaders entrusted with protecting the poor and loyal foot soldiers instead auctioned opportunities to the highest bidder, leaving the grassroots betrayed and abandoned.

The situation reportedly worsened during last week’s branch executive vetting. The MCE and MP are accused of issuing directives to disqualify members who dared question their conduct. Those targeted refused to be silenced and filed an appeal to challenge what they called a corrupt and illegal disqualification.

Yet even the appeal process, according to the allegations, was hijacked. The MCE allegedly handpicked his own faction members to form the Appeal Committee , the same individuals accused of orchestrating the disqualifications. Protesters insisted that party regulations require neutral, regional‑level committee members, not foot soldiers from the camps of Wisdom Seade or Kwame Gakpe Dzudzorli. Their resistance reportedly triggered the moment the MCE brandished a gun at one of the dissenting coordinators. If true, this is not leadership , it is intimidation.

The hearing was postponed to Monday, 29th June. But nature intervened with heavy rainfall. What happened next, witnesses claim, was symbolic of the entire saga: the MCE allegedly locked his gate, leaving party members stranded outside in the rain. A literal and figurative shutting out of the very people he is supposed to serve.

Key Issues Raised

  • Protocol Enlistment Abuse — alleged secrecy and manipulation
  • Grassroots Betrayal — disenfranchisement of loyal members
  • Committee Compromise — alleged violation of party regulations
  • Slot Monetization — claims of selling enlistment opportunities
  • Political Intimidation — alleged weapon‑brandishing incident

And until accountability is restored in Keta, the grassroots will not retreat, will not be silenced, and will not stop demanding the truth that power has tried and failed to bury.
