President John Dramani Mahama has authorized the deployment of Ghana’s gallant soldiers from the 48 Engineers Regiment to assist with reconstruction efforts across Jamaica. Known for their discipline, courage, and technical expertise, the Ghana Armed Forces once again demonstrate why they are internationally acclaimed for peacekeeping and life-saving missions across Africa and beyond.
The mission carries added significance thanks to the support of President Donald Trump and the Government of the United States. Responding positively to Ghana’s request, the U.S. provided C-17 Globemaster III , to airlift the Ghanaian troops along with vital relief supplies and equipment. These include tents, generators, construction equipment, air conditioners, and rations,essentials that will help restore dignity and stability to communities hardest hit by the storm.
This collaboration is more than logistics; it is a testament to the enduring power of human compassion and the bonds that unite nations in times of crisis. Ghana’s soldiers, celebrated for their resilience and humanitarian spirit, now extend their service to Jamaica, embodying Africa’s proud tradition of standing tall in moments of global need.
