The Minister for Trade, Agribusiness, and Industry, Mrs. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, has formally commended Ghana Link Network Services Ltd for achieving a prestigious ISO certification for its upgraded data center, describing the milestone as a critical advancement for Ghana’s trade architecture.

Speaking at a formal presentation ceremony in Accra on February 24, 2026, the Minister emphasized that the international certification represents a vital step toward establishing a more predictable, efficient, and trustworthy environment for cross-border commerce.

She noted that the reliability of such technological systems is fundamental to the operational success of the nation’s traders, manufacturers, and agribusinesses, who rely on seamless customs clearance to manage costs, meet delivery timelines, and sustain production.

The certification follows the successful migration of the Integrated Customs Management System (ICUMS) to a newly constructed, state-of-the-art data center designed to ensure superior information security and operational resilience. To secure the certification, which remains valid until February 2029, the facility underwent rigorous independent assessments in critical areas including asset control, disaster recovery, incident management, and change management.

Mrs. Ofosu-Adjare highlighted that these strengthened controls are essential for curbing unfair trade practices such as undervaluation, which frequently undermine government revenue mobilization and create an uneven playing field for legitimate local industries.

By improving system uptime and traceability, the upgraded infrastructure is expected to safeguard the interests of honest traders and foster fair competition across the market.

Furthermore, the Minister explained that these infrastructure improvements are particularly crucial for the agribusiness sector, where the reduction of administrative delays is necessary to maintain product quality and extend shelf life for exports.

In a post-ceremony interview, she expressed optimism that the “one-stop shop” approach integrated at the nation’s harbors would streamline the broader import and export landscape, ultimately assisting the government in mobilizing the necessary tax revenue for national development. Commending the collaborative efforts of the technical teams at Ghana Link and the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority, the Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to private-sector partnerships, maintaining that a reliable and predictable customs environment is central to achieving Ghana’s long-term goals for industrial expansion and export growth.
