A solemn thanksgiving service was held at the Jehovah Shammah Assemblies of God in Ashongman Estate to celebrate the appointment of Mr. Ebenezer Ahumah Djietror as the Clerk to Ghana’s Parliament.
The event was attended by a high-profile delegation including the Speaker of Parliament, Alban Kingsford Bagbin, various Members of Parliament, and senior clergy from the Assemblies of God community. Many attendees dressed in white to mark the occasion, which featured choral performances and special prayers for the new administrative head of the legislature.
Delivering the sermon under the theme “The Leader’s Good Success,” the General Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Ghana, Rev. Stephen Wengam, reminded the congregants that true leadership achievements are rooted in competence and moral excellence.
Drawing from the biblical book of Joshua, Rev. Wengam urged Mr. Djietror to maintain a total dependence on divine wisdom as he navigates the complexities of public office. He emphasized that the responsibilities of the Clerkship require a leader who remains spiritually grounded and steadfast in the face of national challenges.
The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Kingsford Bagbin, offered goodwill remarks during the service, commending Mr. Djietror on his professional elevation and calling on the Christian community to provide sustained spiritual support for national leaders.
Mr. Djietror, a seasoned parliamentary administrator who rose through the ranks of the Parliamentary Service, expressed his appreciation to the congregants and pledged to discharge his duties with humility and integrity.
As the chief procedural adviser to the House, his role is central to the smooth functioning of Ghana’s legislative processes. The service concluded with specialized prayers for his protection and success in what colleagues described as a significant new chapter of his career.
