The Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, has officially summoned Members of Parliament for the commencement of the Second Session of the Ninth Parliament of the Fourth Republic.

In an official instrument issued from the Speaker’s Office at Parliament House on January 19, 2026, the Speaker exercised the powers conferred upon him by Clause (1) of Article 112 of the Constitution to set the date and venue for the legislative reconvening.

According to the Constitutional Instrument, the session is scheduled to begin at 12 noon on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at Parliament House in Accra.

This summons follows the traditional recess period and marks the start of the year’s legislative business, where the Ninth Parliament is expected to deliberate on new bills, committee reports, and other matters of national importance. All Members of Parliament and relevant stakeholders are expected to be in attendance for the formal opening of the session.
