President John Dramani Mahama has formally commended the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno, and the Police Management Board (POMAB) for their decisive actions in combating crime and modernizing the Ghana Police Service. During a recent engagement, the President expressed high satisfaction with the current leadership’s ability to maintain public order and significantly reduce criminal activities across the country.
He noted that the strategic initiatives implemented by Mr. Yohuno have not only enhanced the operational efficiency of the force but have also played a crucial role in restoring public confidence in law enforcement.
Beyond the immediate crackdown on crime, President Mahama highlighted the ongoing transformation efforts within the service, citing improvements in discipline, professional conduct, and the adoption of modern policing technologies.
He emphasized that the administration’s commitment to reforming the police is yielding tangible results, making Ghana a safer environment for citizens and investors alike.
The President concluded by reaffirming the government’s support for the police hierarchy, urging the IGP and POMAB to sustain the momentum in their quest to create a world-class police institution characterized by integrity and excellence.
