President John Dramani Mahama has departed Ghana to attend the 2026 World Governments Summit in Dubai, marking the beginning of a multi-nation diplomatic tour that includes a subsequent state visit to the Republic of Zambia.

The President and his delegation traveled aboard an aircraft provided by the government of the United Arab Emirates, which will also facilitate his travel to Lusaka.
Following the summit in Dubai, President Mahama, accompanied by the First Lady, will arrive in Zambia for a three-day state visit scheduled from February 4 to 6, 2026.

A central highlight of the visit will be the President’s address to Zambia’s National Assembly, where he is expected to outline Ghana’s vision for a more integrated and prosperous continent.

This visit is intended to reinforce President Mahama’s commitment to African connectivity, focusing on the enhancement of transport infrastructure, the expansion of trade linkages, and the promotion of the free movement of people and goods across the region.

Diplomatic and economic cooperation will remain at the forefront of the mission, as Ghana prepares to showcase its advancements in digital technologies and fintech services to Zambian government institutions and the private sector. The exchange aims to foster bilateral partnerships and position Ghanaian innovation as a catalyst for regional development.
