President John Dramani Mahama has officially commissioned the Sahara LPG Vessel, a move signaled as a major advancement in strengthening Ghana’s energy infrastructure and promoting the adoption of cleaner energy sources.

Speaking at the ceremony, the President characterized the event as a significant milestone in reinforcing the global liquefied petroleum gas supply chain.
During his address, President Mahama identified energy access and the transition to sustainable fuel sources as the defining challenges of the current era. He emphasized that LPG remains a critical component in this transition, offering a transformative solution for socio-economic development across the region.

The President noted that the vessel represents more than just a logistical asset; it is a testament to the power of strategic partnerships and forward-looking investments.
The President further highlighted that the project is aimed at improving energy security not only for Ghana but for the broader West African subcontinent. He concluded by reaffirming Ghana’s commitment to expanding access to cleaner energy solutions, noting that the country continues to recognize the vital role of LPG in driving modern industrial and domestic growth.
