HO, VOLTA REGION — The Ghana Police Service has dismantled a human trafficking syndicate in Ho, arresting seven suspects and rescuing 48 victims during a series of intelligence-led operations. The crackdown, which took place on January 8 and 10, 2026, targeted locations at Fiave Dablah Ayekple Street, Ho CK Road, and Somey Junction.
The suspects, identified as Emmanuel Asiamah, Frimpong Jerry, Paul Mensah, Bismark Perry, Vida Gefah, Ebenezer Kwabena Owusu, and Prince Kaku, are currently in police custody. According to official reports, the 48 rescued victims are primarily young adults and students who were lured by the syndicate with fraudulent promises of overseas travel and employment. Investigators revealed that the victims were held under deceptive and coercive conditions while the group extracted payments from them.
During searches of the premises, police recovered official receipts issued to the victims for monies paid under the pretext of securing travel visas. Officers also seized assorted documents linking the suspects to various other fraudulent activities. The Ghana Police Service is currently working to reunite the rescued individuals with their families while pursuing additional members of the syndicate who remain at large. Authorities have reaffirmed their commitment to dismantling organized crime networks and protecting the public from similar predatory scams.
