The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service has arrested Cyril George Carstensen Lutterodt, popularly known as Counsellor Lutterodt, following the circulation of a viral video containing allegedly inciteful remarks.

According to a statement signed by Chief Inspector Brigitte Babanawo, the Public Relations Officer for the CID, the arrest stems from comments made by the suspect regarding the late highlife musician, Daddy Lumba. Police investigations revealed that Lutterodt allegedly encouraged a group of youth to storm the residence of the deceased musician, actions the authorities deem offensive and capable of causing a significant breach of public peace.

Although the suspect has since been granted bail, the police have confirmed that he will be arraigned before the court on Wednesday, March 11, 2026. Lutterodt faces charges of offensive conduct conducive to the breach of the peace under Section 207 of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29). Additionally, he has been charged with inciting violence under both the Criminal Offences Act and the Public Order Act, 1994 (Act 491) as the CID continues its formal proceedings into the matter.
