The Ghana Police Service has arrested two more individuals in connection with the robbery of a jewelry shop in Adabraka, bringing more members of the suspected criminal group into custody. The operation, led by the Office of the Special Operations Assistant to the Inspector-General of Police, resulted in the capture of Hamza Agerego, also known as Nene Bawku or Lambert, and Alhassan Elliasu, also known as Arab Man, at their hideouts in Ashaiman on January 7, 2026.
Following the initial detention of Agerego at the Katamanso District Police Headquarters, intelligence led officers to Elliasu’s location. A subsequent search of the premises uncovered a significant cache of weapons and tactical gear, including two pump-action guns, 43 rounds of AK-47 ammunition, 239 BB cartridges, and four bulletproof vests. Officers also seized a black face mask, cutlasses, several high-end mobile phones, and a CCTV monitor suspected to be linked to the crime.
Both suspects are currently in police custody and are assisting with ongoing investigations. Authorities have confirmed that the men will be processed for court to face legal charges as the police continue to crack down on violent crime in the capital.
