The Ashanti South Regional Police Command has dismantled a suspected robbery and gang rape syndicate following an intelligence-led operation in Juaso, located in the Ashanti Region. Six suspects, identified as David Adusah, Samuel Amantor, Andrew Odei, Sharif Mohammed, Joseph Addo, and Chidi Arinze, were arrested on January 8, 2026.

During police interrogations, the suspects reportedly admitted to their involvement in a series of violent crimes that have affected the local community.

Following the arrests, searches conducted at the residences of the suspects yielded several incriminating items, including 49 mobile phone covers, a bayonet case, and a green dress resembling a military uniform.

Authorities also found a photograph of the group’s alleged leader dressed in military-style camouflage. Additionally, a Toyota RAV4 vehicle, which investigators believe was used as a transport for the group’s criminal activities, was retrieved and impounded as evidence.

The suspects were arraigned before a court on January 12, 2026, where they were remanded into lawful custody. They are scheduled to reappear in court on January 28, 2026, providing the police with additional time to conclude their comprehensive investigations.

The Ghana Police Service has issued an assurance to the public that all individuals found culpable in these cases will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
