The Parliamentary Open Government Partnership (OGP) Caucus conducted a working visit to the Internal Audit Agency (IAA) this week as part of a strategic engagement series with key implementing agencies.

The visit focused on evaluating the progress of national OGP commitments and identifying collaborative solutions to challenges hindering the full execution of the National OGP Action Plan.

During the session, the Acting Director-General of the IAA, Mr. Thomas Thompson-Aryee, detailed the agency’s ongoing efforts to enhance accountability through the digitization of submission processes and the sensitization of internal auditors.

He emphasized that these initiatives are designed to strengthen internal audit practices across the board, ensuring a higher standard of transparency within public institutions.

The Chairman of the Parliamentary OGP Caucus and Member of Parliament for Ho West, Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah, lauded the IAA management for its dedication to public transparency.

Acknowledging the fiscal hurdles facing the agency, Mr. Bedzrah pledged the Caucus’s support in liaising with the Ministry of Finance and other stakeholders to bridge existing funding gaps, thereby ensuring the agency can fully realize its objectives under the OGP initiative.
