The academic community of Anloga is brimming with anticipation. As part of their December 2025 homecoming, the alumni of Zion College (ZICO),affectionately called Nafricans, are returning to their alma mater not only to celebrate but to invest in the future of its students. On Friday, December 5, 2025, the Zion College Assembly Hall will host a Career Guidance and Counselling Day, a landmark event designed to equip students with practical knowledge, mentorship, and inspiration to “Be Your Best.”
Giving Back with Purpose
This initiative is more than a reunion. It is a deliberate act of service, bridging the gap between academic theory and professional reality. The Nafricans are drawing from their own journeys to show current students how determination, discipline, and vision can transform classroom lessons into real-world success.
Distinguished Panel of Speakers
The program, coordinated by Dr. Samuel Gayi (Class of 1973), will feature a diverse panel of accomplished alumni who have excelled in their respective fields. Each speaker brings a unique perspective and wealth of experience:
Prof. Kofi Quashigah (1974) – Law A respected legal scholar and practitioner, Prof. Quashigah will share insights into the importance of justice, ethics, and the rule of law. His session will highlight how a strong foundation in legal studies can open doors to leadership roles in governance, academia, and advocacy.
Drs. John and Joseph Amaglo (1982) – STEM Pioneers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, the Amaglo brothers will demonstrate how STEM careers are shaping the future of innovation. They will encourage students to embrace problem-solving, creativity, and research as tools for national development.
Mrs. Mamavi Owusu Aboagye (2001) – Communication A seasoned media professional, Mrs. Owusu Aboagye will emphasize the power of effective communication in shaping public opinion, building careers, and fostering leadership. Her talk will inspire students to develop confidence, clarity, and adaptability in a fast-changing media landscape.
Mr. Jonathan Azasoo (1982) – Planning With expertise in urban and regional planning, Mr. Azasoo will discuss how thoughtful planning impacts communities and economies. He will guide students on careers in development, policy, and infrastructure, stressing the importance of vision and sustainability.
ASP Julius Elemawusi Zodanu (1994) – Security As a senior police officer, ASP Zodanu will highlight the role of discipline, integrity, and service in maintaining peace and order. His session will inspire students to consider careers in law enforcement and public safety, underscoring the value of protecting communities.
Mr. Gershon Agbledzowu (1991) – Finance & Accounting A finance and accounting expert, Mr. Agbledzowu will provide practical guidance on financial literacy, management, and entrepreneurship. His talk will show students how mastering numbers can lead to careers in banking, auditing, and corporate leadership.
