Anloga — The Zion College (ZICO) campus came alive yesterday as alumni returned to share stories of resilience, transformation, and triumph, marking the opening day of the 2025 Homecoming celebrations. The event, themed “How I Discovered Myself From Here,” drew together former students from diverse professions, offering current students a living testament to the enduring impact of their alma mater.

From communicators and development experts to pensioners, a navy commander, a medical doctor, teachers, public servants, and a reverend minister, the alumni represented a cross-section of Ghana’s professional landscape. Each speaker recounted personal journeys that began within the walls of Zion College, weaving narratives of struggle, discipline, and eventual success.
The Nafricans’ presentations added further depth to the day’s reflections. One speaker recalled his youthful ambition to become a bursar, only to be persuaded by his family to pursue agriculture because financial constraints made further education uncertain. His story underscored the difficult choices many students faced, and the resilience required to overcome them.
Another presenter urged students to remain loyal to Zion College, describing it as the place “where they are born.” She likened their time at ZICO to being in the middle of a race, where joining groups such as the Scripture Union and other associations provided strength and direction. “There are other things you must do whilst you are in the middle of your race,” she advised, encouraging students to embrace the full breadth of opportunities the College offers.
