The Sector Minister, Hon. Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, has assured applicants of a fair, transparent, and merit-based recruitment process into the Ghana Prisons Service. During a supervisory visit to the screening centre at the Ghana Prisons Service Training School in Accra, the Minister observed the ongoing exercise and interacted with both applicants and officials to ensure the integrity of the proceedings.
In his address, the Minister emphasized that the recruitment exercise is strictly adhering to established procedures and urged all candidates to follow approved channels rather than attempting to circumvent the system. He issued a stern warning against engaging with fraudulent middlemen who claim to offer assistance in exchange for money, noting that anyone found involved in such activities would face arrest and prosecution. To further mitigate the risk of fraud, he highlighted the implementation of a centralized payment system that allows applicants to track their transactions securely.
To protect the sanctity of the recruitment, Hon. Muntaka disclosed that several security agencies, including the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), the Police Intelligence Directorate (PID), and the National Signals Bureau, have been deployed to monitor the process. He commended the center’s leadership for their effective organization and praised the applicants for their disciplined comportment. The Minister concluded by encouraging security agencies under his ministry to adopt these best practices to improve personnel management across the board.
