The government has delivered a major logistical boost to teacher‑training institutions across the country as the Ministry of Education, supported by the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund), handed over brand‑new Toyota Land Cruisers to 20 Colleges of Education. The vehicles were presented through the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) at a ceremony sometime ago.
Education Minister Haruna Iddrisu described the initiative as a strategic investment aimed at strengthening the efficiency, mobility, and administrative capacity of Colleges of Education. He emphasized that the donation reflects government’s renewed commitment to improving the welfare of teachers and modernizing the institutions responsible for shaping Ghana’s future educators.
He noted that reliable transportation is essential for supervision, outreach, and academic coordination, key components of a strong teacher‑training system. The vehicles, he said, will help colleges operate with greater effectiveness and responsiveness.

In addition to the 20 colleges, the Technical University Teachers Association of Ghana (TUTAG) also received a vehicle, bringing the total number of vehicles donated to 21.
The gesture marks one of the most significant upgrades to the logistical capacity of Colleges of Education in recent years, reinforcing the government’s pledge to elevate teacher training and support the institutions that prepare Ghana’s next generation of educators.
