Sunday, Chicago, October 2, 2022: A communion service this day turned out to be a memorable celebration for Rev Kwasi Amponsah-Yeboah, and the families of Mr. and Mrs. Agyeman and Danso respectively.
In celebration of his 73rd birthday, Reverend Kwasi Amponsah-Yeboah opted to preach the gospel and also marked seven years’ absence in the pulpit here in Chicago. He gave a powerful message on Humility. He showed the audience from scripture after scripture how God will exalt them when they humbled themselves. “God opposes pride and honors the humble,” he reminded the flock. If you fight for the Lord, he will exalt you. Rev. Yeboah used the occasion to thank those who fought for the church during the recent crises.
He recapped his sermon with the words in the second stanza of the Methodist Hymn Book number 550. It states, “Forbid it, Lord, that I should boast, Save in the death of Christ my God! All the vain things that charm me most, I sacrifice them to His blood.”
Many expressed their sentiments during the celebrations. The Brong Ahafo Association president, Mr. Benjamin Kodom-Ayensu, said, “It gives me great pleasure to felicitate with you on the occasion of your 73rd birthday, Reverend Yeboah. Our church and community owe you a debt of gratitude for your active participation in our community activities which has resulted in the Brong Ahafo Association and the Ghana Community Church. Your prayerful support and the productive spiritual leadership you continue to provide the church and the entire body of Christ is laudable,” Mr. Ayensu concluded.
Reverend Yeboah’s spartan life of transparency, openness, truth, and grace is unsurpassed.
He received a glowing tribute from his family, especially Kwasi Yeboah Jr., who led the service.
Mr. and Mrs. Agyeman and his family also thanked the Lord for their safe journey back to the United States and the church.
Members of the church also celebrated the birthday of Adjoa Aboagyewaa Amponsah remarkably.
Mr. Joe Danso and Mrs. Linda Danso also announced their 37th wedding anniversary celebration. They thanked the almighty Lord for a sustained and blessed marriage.
The President of the church, Ms. Evelyn Tetteh , used the occasion to invite members of the community to its Thanksgiving Service on November 30 , 2022 from 1 pm to 3 pm. The venue is 5500 South Woodlawn, Chicago .
It was an evening full of grace and thanksgiving to the Lord.
