A new wave of development has begun in the Keta Municipality as the Member of Parliament for Keta, working in partnership with the Municipal Chief Executive, officially broke ground for two major community projects,a three‑unit classroom block for Atiavi–Atime M/A Basic School and a new CHPS Compound for the people of Seva.
Hon. Kwame Dzudzorli Gakpey noted that these initiatives reflect the broader national vision championed by President John Dramani Mahama under the Resetting Agenda, which seeks to strengthen educational infrastructure, expand access to healthcare, and promote equitable development in underserved areas.
Speaking at the ceremony, the MP expressed deep appreciation to residents for their overwhelming support for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) during the 2024 elections. He reaffirmed his commitment to advancing the progress of the municipality, assuring constituents that he will continue advocating for additional life‑changing projects.
He reminded the gathering that the current interventions mark only the beginning of a larger transformation, adding that “many more positive developments are on the way.”
Municipal Chief Executive Wisdom Seade encouraged community members to actively safeguard the projects and collaborate fully with the contractors to ensure smooth execution. He warned contractors against using inferior materials and urged residents to maintain the facilities responsibly once completed so they can benefit future generations.
Both leaders extended their gratitude to the government and all partners whose dedication has made these projects possible, emphasizing that such efforts bring development closer to the people of Keta.
The two projects are scheduled for completion within six months. Once finished, they are expected to significantly reduce the challenges faced by residents while improving access to quality education and essential healthcare services.
Traditional authorities, including chiefs and elders, expressed heartfelt appreciation for the timely interventions. They pledged their continuous support and offered prayers for divine guidance, protection, and success for the NDC administration.
Municipal Directors of Health and Education also welcomed the projects, describing them as a major boost to service delivery in the area. They applauded the MP, the MCE, and the government for prioritizing the wellbeing of the municipality, noting that the new facilities will greatly enhance healthcare delivery and raise educational standards across Keta.
