The Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, has described the Volta Region as one of the most peaceful areas in Ghana based on current security data. This commendation followed a meeting in Accra where a delegation from the Volta Regional House of Chiefs, led by Volta Regional Minister James Gunu, called on the Minister to discuss regional security and institutional collaboration.
During the visit, Mr. Gunu expressed appreciation for the Ministry’s engagement and reaffirmed the region’s commitment to maintaining its status as a secure hub for investment. Togbe Tepre Hodo IV, President of the Volta Regional House of Chiefs and Paramount Chief of the Anfoega Traditional Area, assured the Minister of the traditional authorities’ full support in safeguarding the nation, emphasizing that maintaining peace and security remains a shared responsibility between the state and local leadership.
In response, Alhaji Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak thanked the delegation for their proactive stance and urged the chiefs to continue their partnership with the government to ensure long-term stability across the country.
