The Zion College (ZICO) campus in Anloga was electric yesterday as old students returned to share stories of perseverance, inspiring current students to make the most of their time at the institution. The event, aptly titled “How I Discovered Myself From Here,” formed part of the 2025 Homecoming celebration and brought together alumni from diverse professional fields.
Communicators, a development expert, pensioners, a navy commander, a medical doctor, teachers, public servants, and a reverend minister recounted their journeys, weaving tales of transformation from youthful missteps to professional triumphs.
One particularly moving account came from a former student who had once been on the verge of dropping out. Through sheer determination, he found his footing and rose to prominence. Another alumnus, now a pensioner, reflected on the discipline and leadership skills instilled during her time at Zion College: “It was here that I discovered my strength and purpose.”
Others highlighted how the College’s emphasis on community service shaped their careers. “Zion College taught me to serve humanity, and I’ve carried that forward in my field of practice,” one speaker noted.
The common thread running through all the testimonies was clear: Zion College is more than an academic institution—it is a catalyst for growth, self‑discovery, and success. As one alumnus put it, “Without Zion College, I wouldn’t be where I am today.”
Students listened intently, encouraged to emulate the examples set by these trailblazers. The message was direct and uplifting: “You too can make it. Put aside distractions, focus on your studies, and let Zion College be the foundation of your greatness.”
The event was a powerful reminder that the College’s legacy extends far beyond its walls, living on in the achievements of its alumni who continue to make a difference in Ghana and beyond.
The Homecoming, a prelude to Zion College’s 90th Anniversary in 2027, promises an exciting lineup of activities, including career guidance and counseling, a candlelight procession, games, and a grand durbar.
