Residents of Ayawaso West will enjoy free World Cup viewing centres and food support throughout Ghana’s matches, thanks to an initiative announced by Hon. John Dumelo. The parliamentary candidate revealed that he has fully covered DStv subscriptions for selected public viewing locations across the constituency, ensuring that fans can gather to watch the global tournament at no cost.

In a message shared on Facebook and widely circulated by local media, Dumelo described the move as part of his commitment to community engagement during major national events. “The World Cup starts today and here is good news for Ayawaso West,” he wrote, confirming that multiple centres have been equipped with giant screens and reliable satellite access.

The designated viewing locations include the Abelemkpe Astro Turf Park, Okponglo, Mempasem, Airport Residential Area, West Legon, and Dzorwulu. According to Dumelo, some centres will broadcast all World Cup matches, while others will focus specifically on Ghana’s fixtures, allowing fans to choose their preferred atmosphere.

Beyond the entertainment, Dumelo has also arranged free meals for supporters who turn out to cheer the Black Stars. He disclosed that he has partnered with 13 kenkey sellers across the constituency to provide complimentary servings of kenkey and Ghana fish during Ghana’s games. This, he said, is meant to enhance the communal experience and support local food vendors at the same time.

The initiative has already drawn praise from residents who see it as a thoughtful gesture that brings the community together during one of the world’s most celebrated sporting events.
