The Keta Constituency witnessed a powerful display of progress and partnership yesterday as its Member of Parliament, Hon. Dzudzorli Kwame Gakpey, joined the Volta Regional Minister , Hon. James Gunu , traditional authorities, and community members to break ground for three major social infrastructure projects across the municipality.
At the heart of the ceremony was a significant moment of national representation: Hon. James Gunu, the Volta Regional Minister, representing H.E. John Dramani Mahama in the ongoing national drive to expand essential social infrastructure, carried out the assignment with the full support of the Keta Constituency Member of Parliament, Hon. Dzudzorli Kwame Gakpey.
This collaboration underscored the unity of purpose between national leadership and local representation.
The ceremonies marked the commencement of:
- An Early Childhood Development Centre at Anlo State School, Abutiakope
- A six-unit classroom block with ancillary facilities at R.C. Basic School, Anlo Afiadenyigba
- A fully equipped CHPS Compound at Tengekope
Each project responds to urgent community needs , strengthening education, expanding access to healthcare, and laying the foundation for long-term human development in Keta.
Building the Future from the Ground Up
The Early Childhood Development Centre at Abutiakope is expected to transform the learning experience for the youngest pupils, providing a safe, stimulating environment that supports cognitive, emotional, and social growth. At Anlo Afiadenyigba, the six-unit classroom block will ease congestion, improve teaching conditions, and restore dignity to basic education. The CHPS Compound at Tengekope stands as a lifeline for surrounding communities. Once completed, it will bring essential healthcare closer to residents, reducing travel time, improving maternal and child health outcomes, and strengthening preventive care.
