The Minister for Health, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, has convened a two-day expanded stakeholder engagement to deliberate on the progress and management of Ghana’s flagship Agenda 111 health infrastructure project. The meeting was primarily centered on the findings of a comprehensive audit report conducted by Audit and Evaluation Services Limited (AESL), allowing key players in the health sector to review and align on the outcomes of the assessment.

This review process is part of a broader effort by the Ministry to ensure that the ambitious hospital construction initiative remains on track and adheres to the highest standards of project delivery.

A central feature of the discussions was the proposed introduction of a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) management system specifically designed for hospital equipment.

This management model is intended to enhance operational efficiency, streamline maintenance protocols, and ensure value for money across the new health facilities. By centralizing the procurement and upkeep of medical technology, the Ministry aims to avoid past challenges related to equipment durability and technical oversight.

The engagement underscores a commitment to transparency and the sustainable management of public investments as the government moves toward completing the extensive network of health facilities across the country.
