The government has revoked the appointments of 541 individuals into the Public Service following a comprehensive review of personnel actions taken after the December 7 elections. The decision comes after a committee, established by the Chief of Staff, concluded its investigation into the recruitment, appointment, and promotion processes initiated during the transition period.
According to a press statement released by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, the committee examined a total of 2,080 personnel cases that had been subject to a revocation directive from the Chief of Staff.
Out of this number, the committee recommended that 1,201 appointments be upheld, as these individuals were found to have been hired in full compliance with established due process.
The findings also provided specific protections for vulnerable groups, noting that 338 appointments involving persons with disability were upheld by the committee. However, the 541 individuals whose appointments were officially revoked were found to have been processed without following the necessary legal and administrative protocols.
This review ensures that all active positions within the Public Service meet the required regulatory standards for employment.
