PHILADELPHIA, PA — In a momentous gathering poised to strengthen ties between Ghana and its diaspora, Ghana’s Ambassador to the United States, His Excellency Victor Smith, will host a special community dialogue on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Temple University in Philadelphia. The event is expected to draw Ghanaians from across Pennsylvania, Delaware, and New Jersey for a timely and interactive engagement on national developments, diaspora investment, and global opportunities.

Organized in collaboration with the Embassy of Ghana and the US-Ghana Chamber of Commerce, the dialogue will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Mazur Hall, 1114 W Polett Walk, Temple University. The session is open to all members of the Ghanaian community, including students, professionals, business owners, youth leaders, and friends of Ghana.

The discussion will center on six key themes:

  • Current Happenings in Ghana
  • Diaspora Engagement Strategies
  • Business Opportunities Linked to the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Philadelphia
  • Investment Pathways for Diaspora Entrepreneurs
  • Embassy Updates and Services
  • Community Mobilization for Global Events

Ambassador Smith is expected to provide firsthand insights into Ghana’s evolving political and economic landscape, while also addressing the role of the diaspora in shaping the country’s future. With Philadelphia set to host matches during the 2026 World Cup, the event will explore how Ghanaian entrepreneurs and cultural organizations can position themselves to benefit from the global spotlight.

“This is more than a diplomatic visit, it’s a strategic dialogue,” said organizers. “It’s about connecting Ghana’s national vision with the energy, expertise, and aspirations of its diaspora.”

Registration for the event is available online at Eventzilla (eventzilla.net in Bing), and early arrival is encouraged due to limited seating.

SankofaOnline urges all Ghanaians in the tri-state area to attend this important gathering. It is a rare opportunity to engage directly with Ghana’s top diplomat in the United States, share perspectives, and contribute to a collective vision for progress.
