The Ghanaian Muslim community in Berlin, led by the Ghana Islamic Multicultural Association (G.I.M.A. e.V.), has officially welcomed Ghana’s newly appointed Ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany, His Excellency Professor Ohene Adjei.

The engagement, held on Wednesday, 15 April 2026, brought together major Ghanaian Muslim organizations, including the Council of Moslem Elders, Masjid Aqsa Mosque (Ghanaian Mosque), Berlin Muslim Ladies, and Noorul Bayan e.V., along with members of the broader Ghanaian community.

In his opening remarks, G.I.M.A. Chairman Mr. Sampson Nyaaba congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment and reaffirmed the community’s dedication to unity, cooperation, and mutual support among Ghanaians living in Berlin. He highlighted the need for stronger collaboration between the Embassy and the diaspora, particularly in advancing community welfare and national cohesion.

During the meeting, representatives raised several concerns affecting Ghanaians in Germany, including:

  • Delays in dual citizenship application processing
  • Lengthy passport issuance timelines
  • The need for improved relations between the Embassy and the Ghanaian community

Ambassador Professor Ohene Adjei expressed appreciation for the warm reception and assured the community of his commitment to addressing these issues. He emphasized his intention to work closely with Ghanaian groups in Germany to strengthen unity and deepen engagement.

The meeting is seen as a positive step toward rebuilding strong, constructive relations between the Ghanaian Embassy and its citizens across Germany.
