Chicago — After a brief one-month pause, the Ghanaian Community Health Clinic (GCHC) is back, reaffirming its mission to provide free, quality healthcare to the Ghanaian and broader African diaspora in Chicago. The clinic will hold its final session of the year on Saturday, December 13, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Church of Pentecost, 4332 N. Kedzie Avenue.

The return of the clinic is more than a routine announcement, it is a reminder of the vital role community-driven initiatives play in bridging healthcare gaps. Since its inception, the GCHC has become a trusted pillar of service, offering care to families who might otherwise struggle to access medical attention.

Organizers are calling for volunteers to join this effort, emphasizing that the clinic thrives on the dedication of medical professionals, students, and community members who believe in service. “Whether you are trained in medicine or simply passionate about helping others, your contribution matters,” the committee noted.

The upcoming clinic will provide a wide range of services, including family medicine, pediatrics, women’s health, endocrinology, urology, respiratory care for conditions such as asthma, COPD, and bronchitis; as well as ophthalmology. Each session has historically drawn patients from across the city, underscoring the demand for accessible, culturally sensitive healthcare.

As the year draws to a close, the organizers see this final clinic not just as an endpoint, but as a rallying call. “Let us finish 2025 strong by showing up for our community,” they urged. “Together, we can ensure that health and dignity remain at the center of our collective journey.”

The Ghanaian Community Health Clinic’s return signals continuity, resilience, and a renewed commitment to service. For many in Chicago’s Ghanaian and African diaspora, December 13 will not only be a day of medical care but also a celebration of community solidarity.
