Ghana Water Limited (GWL) secured three major titles at the 14th Marketing World Awards (MWA) recently held in Accra, marking a significant milestone for the utility provider’s corporate reputation and communication strategy. The company was named the Public Sector Brand of the Year in the utility category, underscoring its efforts in brand management and stakeholder engagement.
In addition to the corporate recognition, the company’s communication leadership was highlighted through two specific awards. Stanley Martey, the Chief Manager of Public Relations and Communications at GWL, was adjudged the Public Sector PR Personality of the Year, while the broader GWL Public Relations Team took home the award for Public Sector PR Team of the Year.
The Marketing World Awards, which celebrate excellence in marketing, branding, and consumer engagement across Africa, brought together a diverse group of industry leaders and public institutions. By securing these three honours, GWL joined an elite group of organisations recognized for setting high standards in public sector communication.
Other notable institutions and brands honored during the event included the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA), the Ghana Police Service, the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), and several private sector entities such as Fidelity Bank and Standard Chartered Bank.
