The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), in collaboration with the Volta Development Forum (VDF), will on Monday embark on a comprehensive assessment of three key tourism sites, Likpe Todome, Adaklu Mountain, and Gemi Mountain, as preparations intensify for the highly anticipated 2026 Mega Volta Easter Project.
The technical team includes experienced paragliding pilots, tourism officials, and a delegation from the VDF led by its Executive Director, Mr. Daniel Agboka Dzegede. Their mission is to evaluate the suitability of these natural landmarks for expanded adventure tourism activities and cultural programming during the 2026 Easter festivities.
According to project coordinators, the assessment will focus on the region’s natural beauty, cultural heritage assets, and adventure tourism potential, positioning the Volta Region as a premier destination for both domestic and international travelers.
The initiative forms part of a broader strategy to drive sustainable tourism, stimulate regional development, and unlock new economic opportunities for local communities. Stakeholders believe that improved tourism infrastructure and diversified attractions will significantly boost the region’s visibility and revenue.
If successful, the 2026 Mega Volta Easter Project is expected to transform the selected sites into must‑visit destinations, deepen community participation, and reinforce the Volta Region’s status as one of Ghana’s most vibrant tourism frontiers.
