Ghana National Council Going LIVE on ABC 7 Chicago!

Ghana National Council announces a major milestone as they go LIVE on ABC 7 Chicago this Sunday, July 6, at 9:20 AM. Representatives of the 37th Annual GhanaFest®️ will appear on air to share the pride, heritage, and cultural energy behind this year’s celebration.

Nana Okusteaku VIII, Chief of the Fanti Benevolent Society and President of the Ghana Chieftaincy Council, together with Mama Nunyati, Queen Mother of the Ewe Association of Chicago, will offer their reflections on the traditions, history, and community spirit that continue to make GhanaFest®️ the Midwest’s premier Ghanaian cultural festival.

They will also highlight what awaits the public on Saturday, July 25, when Washington Park becomes the home of GhanaFest®️ 2026. From royal pageantry to music, dance, food, and cultural exhibitions, this year’s festival promises an unforgettable experience for families, friends, and the entire Chicago community.
