The Fanti Benevolent Society of Chicago has announced the return of its signature annual celebration, Afahyɛ 2027, inviting members, families, friends, and the wider African Diaspora to prepare for a landmark gathering of culture, identity, and unity. The event is scheduled for Saturday, July 24, 2027, at the Crystal Grand Banquets in Lemont, Illinois, and will highlight the powerful theme, “Empowering Cultural Heritage in Health and Education.”
Afahyɛ has long stood as one of the Midwest’s most anticipated cultural showcases, serving as a bridge between generations and preserving the rich traditions of the Fante people. The 2027 edition promises an exceptional program anchored by the coronation of sub‑chiefs and queen mothers, reaffirming the enduring relevance of traditional leadership within the Diaspora.
