The Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts was infused with rare artistic energy yesterday when celebrated filmmaker Ivan Quashigah introduced one of Ghana’s most compelling new voices ,Enam , to the Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Hon. Abla Dzifa Gomashie.
The moment the young singer stepped into the Minister’s office, it was clear she carried more than talent. She carried presence. Beauty, depth, cultural grounding, and a voice that stops conversations mid‑sentence. The Minister herself could not hide her admiration.
“My God, what a package,” Hon. Gomashie remarked, visibly moved by Enam’s artistry and authenticity.
The Minister went on to draw a powerful comparison, one that carries weight in Ghana’s creative landscape.
“She reminds me so much of Wiyaala the Lioness,” she said. “Both of them are so unique, so authentic, so organic.”
For a sector constantly searching for the next generation of cultural torchbearers, Enam’s visit was more than a courtesy call ,it was a reminder of Ghana’s abundant creative wealth. Hon. Gomashie emphasized that talent has never been Ghana’s challenge.
“What we do not lack in Ghana is talent across the entire ecosystem of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts,” she stated. “What we need are the laws to protect our work, the networks to strengthen our reach, the support to sustain our craft, and the recognition for what we bring to the table.”
She called for a renewed national consciousness ,one that values Ghanaian creativity not as an afterthought, but as a deliberate choice.“We need conscious citizens who will choose everything Ghanaian and believe in the process,” she urged.
For Enam, the visit was both an affirmation and a blessing. The Minister expressed deep appreciation for her artistry and the promise she represents for Ghana’s cultural future.
“Thank you, Ms. Enam. You are a great creative artist, and I am blessed to know you,” Hon. Gomashie said.
As Ghana continues to elevate its creative economy, voices like Enam’s powerful, rooted, and unmistakably Ghanaian , signal a bright and unstoppable future. And yesterday, at the Ministry, that future felt very close.
