The ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development (EBID) has opened its first regional office in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. The inauguration ceremony was officiated by Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, Chairman of the Board of Governors of EBID, who described the move as a “landmark step” in the organization’s efforts to deepen regional investment and foster integration.

The Abidjan office is expected to enhance EBID’s outreach and support for development projects across West Africa. The establishment of a physical presence in Abidjan signifies EBID’s commitment to expanding opportunities throughout the ECOWAS bloc.
EBID is a specialized institution of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) aimed at promoting regional economic development and integration. The bank provides financing for development projects in various sectors, including infrastructure, agriculture, and industry, to foster economic growth and poverty reduction in the region.
