The Ghana Armed Forces has confirmed that a soldier critically injured during a recent missile attack on the Ghanaian Battalion (GHANBATT) Headquarters in Southern Lebanon is responding well to treatment following a successful surgery. In an update released on March 8, 2026, military officials clarified that a total of four soldiers sustained injuries when the position, situated within the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) zone, came under fire. While one soldier required major medical intervention, the other three sustained minor injuries, and all four personnel are currently reported to be in stable condition.
Beyond the casualties, the military provided details on the welfare of the fourteen officers whose accommodation was completely destroyed during the strike.
The Department of Public Relations at Burma Camp stated that the affected officers have since been re-kitted, provided with new accommodation, and given the necessary support to resume their duties.
Despite the significant damage to the facility and the intensity of the kinetic exchange in the region, the Ghana Armed Forces noted that the battalion remains in high spirits with morale remaining high among the troops.
The military command also expressed its appreciation to the Ghanaian public for the continued solidarity shown toward the peacekeepers serving in the volatile Middle Eastern theatre.
