Anloga, Volta Region — The leadership of Anlo Dukor has reaffirmed its collective commitment to cultural integrity, development, and environmental resilience following a high‑level colloquium held at Anlo Senior High School. The gathering brought together the Awoamefia of Anlo, Togbi Sri III, the Awadada, Togbi Agbesi Awusu II, divisional chiefs, queen mothers, elders, and other eminent traditional authorities of the Anlo Traditional Council.
The colloquium, described by participants as both timely and strategic, examined a broad range of issues central to the future of Anlo. These included the state of the chieftaincy institution, progress on the Hogbe Park Astroturf project, preparations for the Hogbetsotso Festival, and the escalating coastal devastation threatening Fuveme and surrounding communities.
Awomezitor Dan Kwesi Abodakpi, delivering one of the keynote interventions, emphasized the urgent need to safeguard the sanctity and legitimacy of the Anlo chieftaincy system. He underscored that the revered position of the Agbotaduawo,a pillar of Anlo’s traditional hierarchy, must remain protected from distortions, misrepresentations, and unauthorized claims.
He cautioned strongly against the wrongful coronation of individuals who lack the customary qualifications or lineage to occupy stools within the Anlo State. According to him, the integrity of the chieftaincy institution depends on strict adherence to established customs, stool structures, and ancestral protocols.
Awomezitor Abodakpi further called for unwavering respect for the authority of the Awoamefia, describing the throne as the spiritual and cultural anchor of the Anlo people. He noted that unity, continuity, and the collective dignity of the Anlo State are inseparable from the authority vested in the Awoamefia.
The colloquium concluded with renewed resolve among chiefs and elders to strengthen traditional governance, accelerate development initiatives, and advocate for urgent coastal protection measures to safeguard vulnerable communities.
