The process for determining the status of the Red Notice issued against Kenneth Nana Yaw Ofori-Atta remains ongoing before the independent Commission for the Control of INTERPOL’s Files (CCF). The accused individual formally applied for the removal of his name from the global alert in October 2025, prompting Ghanaian Authorities to submit their initial response to the Commission on October 22, 2025. This application marks a formal attempt by Mr. Ofori-Atta to contest the legitimacy of the international alert, a mechanism used to seek his location and provisional arrest pending extradition.

The procedural back-and-forth escalated in November 2025 when the CCF informed Ghanaian Authorities that Mr. Ofori-Atta had filed additional arguments to support his request, requiring Ghana to submit a further response by November 21, 2025. The CCF’s role is to ensure that the data processing and the Red Notice itself comply with INTERPOL’s strict rules, which forbid intervention in cases deemed to be of a political, military, religious, or racial character.
With the proceedings still officially pending, the Commission continues to study the merits of the case, which means a final determination on the Notice’s fate has not yet been reached. To protect the integrity of the review and the rights of the applicant, the individual’s name and details are typically redacted from public view during this deliberation period. The public is therefore urged to dismiss contrary reports as being based on mischief or unverified information.
