During the vibrant celebration of Akwasidae, President Mahama addressed the concerns raised by Nana Otumfuo regarding his distrust in politicians to develop his kingdom. While the Asantehene expressed frustration and skepticism, President Mahama painted a different picture, highlighting the collaborative efforts between them.

President Mahama emphasized the numerous projects they had successfully undertaken together, including the development of Kejetia, the establishment of schools, the provision of electricity in the Asante region, access to clean drinking water, and the enhancement of Kumasi International Airport. These achievements, he argued, were a testament to the power of partnership and shared vision.

In his speech, President Mahama promised to continue working with the Asantehene to develop the region. He underscored the importance of unity and cooperation in driving progress and ensuring that every corner of the country benefits from development initiatives.

Imagine a scenario where every region, its chiefs, kings, and prominent citizens who assist the president in various ways, mimic the Asantehene’s behavior by openly denigrating our political leaders for their own parochial interests and development. How many regions in Ghana have more development than Asanteman? The answer is clear: unity and collaboration are essential for progress. By fostering trust and working together, we can overcome challenges and build a brighter future for all citizens.

President Mahama’s call to action serves as a reminder that, despite differences, working together is the key to achieving lasting and meaningful progress. Let’s bridge the trust gap and unite for the equitable development of our nation.
