The Bank of Ghana has participated in the formal signing of a landmark Risk-Sharing Guarantee Scheme between the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and Access Bank Ghana Plc to bolster the nation’s cocoa value chain. At the ceremony held in Accra on January 23, 2026, the Second Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Mrs. Matilda Asante-Asiedu, emphasized that the facility is strategically engineered to provide critical working capital to Licensed Buying Companies (LBCs).

She noted that the stability of these companies is vital for safeguarding rural livelihoods, strengthening national export earnings, and supporting the resilience of the exchange rate.

Mrs. Asante-Asiedu further lauded Access Bank Ghana for its robust financial standing, highlighting its total assets of GHS 19.47 billion as a testament to sound risk management and market confidence.

This financial strength, she indicated, positions the bank as a dependable partner for channelling development finance toward key national economic priorities and agriculture-led growth.
