The Black Stars have officially arrived in the United States, marking the start of the final and most crucial phase of their preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The team departed Cardiff on Wednesday afternoon and landed in Washington, D.C., around 9 p.m. local time, stepping into an atmosphere charged with Ghanaian pride and diaspora excitement.
They were received by staff of the Ghana High Commission in Washington, who welcomed the delegation as the team transitions into its U.S. training base. But it was the Ghanaian community that transformed the arrival into a cultural spectacle, adowa dancers, supporters waving Ghana flags, chants, cheers, and fans eagerly taking selfies with the players. The scene was vibrant, colorful, and unmistakably Ghanaian.
Ghana enters this final stretch on the back of a promising 1–1 draw with Wales, a performance that has boosted confidence ahead of the global tournament. Head coach Carlos Queiroz and his technical team are set to resume training on Thursday, sharpening tactics and tightening squad cohesion as the World Cup kicks off on June 11.
With the diaspora rallying behind them and preparations intensifying on American soil, the Black Stars begin their final march toward the world stage, focused, energized, and backed by the unshakable spirit of Ghana.
