Bank of Ghana Second Deputy Governor Mrs. Matilda Asante-Asiedu has called on finance leaders to balance ambitious digital innovation with rigorous institutional discipline. Speaking at the Women in Finance Conference 2026 held in Accra on Tuesday, March 3,
Mrs. Asante-Asiedu addressed a gathering of female CFOs and industry leaders on the critical themes of leadership, resilience, and the evolving digital economy. She noted that digital transformation has become a systemic force that now fundamentally shapes liquidity, commerce, and daily life across the nation.

During her address, the Second Deputy Governor cautioned that as financial institutions scale their operations, such growth must be strictly aligned with robust governance and the maintenance of public trust. She described the stability of the financial system as a shared responsibility and reaffirmed the Bank of Ghana’s ongoing commitment to modernizing its supervisory frameworks to meet these modern challenges.
Challenging the executives in attendance to be intentional about building sustainable systems, Mrs. Asante-Asiedu emphasized that the future of finance requires leaders who are simultaneously uncompromising about discipline and proactive in adopting new technologies.
