His Royal Majesty, The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, is scheduled to present the final report and recommendations stemming from his high-level mediation efforts in the long-running Bawku conflict to President John Dramani Mahama.

The submission of this report marks a significant and highly anticipated milestone in the attempts by national authorities and traditional leadership to bring an enduring resolution to the recurring and often violent conflict in the Bawku area of the Upper East Region.

The formal presentation ceremony is set to take place at the Presidency in Accra on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, commencing at 4:00 PM. The report is expected to contain detailed findings and actionable proposals from the Asantehene’s team, offering a pathway for the government to implement peace-building measures and resolve the underlying issues fueling the decades-old dispute.

The public announcement of the forthcoming presentation was made by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, MP, who serves as the Spokesperson to the President and Minister for Government Communications. The President is expected to review the recommendations immediately upon receipt, with the hope that the Asantehene’s influential intervention will finally lead to stability and a cessation of hostilities in the troubled region.
