The Speaker of the Algerian Parliament, Mr. Azouz Nasri, has arrived in Accra ahead of the Next Steps High‑Level Consultative Conference on the implementation of the landmark United Nations Resolution on the Trafficking of Enslaved Africans.

Mr. Nasri was welcomed at the Jubilee Lounge by Ghana’s First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Hon. Bernard Ahiafor, signaling the beginning of a pivotal week for Africa’s global justice agenda.

The three‑day conference, scheduled for 17–19 June 2026, brings together parliamentary leaders, policymakers, scholars, and civil society actors from across the continent and the diaspora. Their mission is clear: to examine the far‑reaching implications of the historic UN Resolution and to shape a coordinated global framework that strengthens advocacy, accelerates implementation, and advances reparative justice for Africans and people of African descent worldwide.
The Accra gathering is expected to deepen continental alignment, refine strategic pathways for global engagement, and reinforce Africa’s leadership in the ongoing push for recognition, restitution, and historical accountability.
