The Accra Regional Police Command has announced the implementation of a comprehensive security strategy to maintain order during the Ayawaso East parliamentary by-election scheduled for Tuesday, March 3, 2026.
In a statement signed by the Head of Public Affairs for the Accra Region, Superintendent Juliana Obeng, the Command assured the general public of its full preparedness to provide adequate security before, during, and after the electoral process. To facilitate a peaceful and transparent environment, a significant number of police personnel have been deployed to all designated polling stations and key tactical locations throughout the constituency.

The security operation includes a visible police presence and continuous patrols designed to prevent any potential disruptions to public peace. The Command has issued a stern caution to the public against engaging in acts of violence, intimidation, or the spreading of misinformation that could undermine the integrity of the vote. Superintendent Obeng emphasized that any individuals found violating electoral laws or engaging in misconduct will be dealt with strictly in accordance with Ghanaian law.
As voters head to the polls, the police are urging all eligible citizens to exercise their civic responsibilities in a peaceful manner. The public is further encouraged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the security personnel on the ground to ensure the orderly conduct of the re-run.
This deployment is part of a broader commitment by the Accra Regional Police Command to uphold national security and protect the democratic process within the Ayawaso East constituency.
