In recent months, the constituency has witnessed a series of interventions that speak to a philosophy of governance grounded in service rather than spectacle, and in substance rather than slogans.
The transformation began with a simple but powerful gesture: equipping the hardworking market women of Juapong with modern freezers. For years, these women have sustained the local economy through sheer resilience, often without the tools that could expand their businesses or preserve their goods. The provision of freezers was more than an act of charity; it was a strategic investment in the constituency’s commercial backbone.
It acknowledged the central role of women in the marketplace and affirmed that development must begin where livelihoods are most fragile.
But the renewal did not stop there. This week, the focus shifts to another pillar of North Tongu’s economy,the farmers whose labor feeds households, supplies markets, and anchors the district’s rural identity. In an ambitious rollout, thousands of farmers across the constituency are receiving fertilisers, improved seedlings, and comprehensive farmer‑support services at no cost.
More than 5,000 farmers are expected to benefit, marking one of the largest agricultural support initiatives in the district’s recent history.
This intervention is significant not only because of its scale, but because of its philosophy. It recognizes that development must be inclusive, practical, and responsive to the needs of those who carry the weight of the community’s sustenance. Farmers are not merely producers; they are custodians of the land, stewards of tradition, and the quiet engines of the constituency’s economic life.
